There are number of elements that go into making a successful agency website. I recently completed a webinar for the independent insurance agents of Texas specifically talking about what makes a successful agency website. I would suggest that you do that webinar to give you an idea of what I think are the elements that go into a successful site. The direct link to the webinar is: https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/722488921

There are a couple of ways to send text from your computer. If you know the person's mobile number and the service provider (ATT, Verizon) you can look up the "e-mail address" of that mobile phone. For example, for AT&T the address would be the following: 6155551212@txt.att.net. Using any email program you can send a message directly to that phone using this address.
You can also add to Microsoft outlook the capability to send text messages just like email message. You need to add a new account to Outlook and also subscribe to an SMS Gateway Service.
The third way is to secure a Google Voice phone number. This is a free service offered by Google. This phone number will accept text messages and allow you to send text messages. More information is available at http://www.google.com/voice.

How does a user know what to look for in an insurance website and useful services? Would someone first need knowledge of the best service capabilities for the insurance Industry websites to evaluate a website?

Thanks for your comments. You make a good point that ultimately the quality of a presentation is controlled by the presenter not just the tool used.

Although I tend to agree with the frustrations people have with PowerPoint presentations, your recommendation of SlideRocket to solve those problems seems ridiculous. Exactly how does that tool solve the problem of excessive text on a slide?
A good presentation is entirely in the hands of the presenter, not the tool they're using. A much better focus here would have been tips for creating a good presentation that engages an audience. Accessing a presentation from anywhere (which PowerPoint can do via SkyDrive, BTW) doesn't automatically fix the problem here.

While Roboform is a good solution, I prefer Lastpass. We are even looking at implementing the enterprise version... which will allow managed shared passwords among all users for sites which the entire agency needs. ANY password management tool is better than using nothing... this leads to password fatigue (i.e. using the same password for everything, or all easy passwords).

I participated in the trial of this product. It is very cool - and it was neat getting an email every night (you can setup multiple alerts for various times of the day) showing where my car was. Some days it had the address correct but others it was off by a house or two.
OnStar indicated in the trial info that if they decide to offer the service in the future there would be a charge for it - so if they are reconsidering including it in the subscription cost that would be great. I am not sure what $ extra I would want to pay for it otherwise.
Every few times you start the car it announced that FamilyLink tracking was activated - so you can't install it on someone's car and monitor them without them knowing about it.
