It is hard to believe that tomorrow is December 1! 2017 will be history in a short 31 days.
2017 was an excellent year for me. It was my best year ever. What about you? How many of your 2017 goals were you able to see accomplished?
For the last several years, I have taken time in December to review the past year and think about what I want to accomplish by the end of next year. It is a hard and, at the same time, gratifying process.
New Year’s Resolutions Don’t Work
Thinking about what I want to achieve in the coming year and strategizing on how to get there is deceptively tricky.
Fortunately, help is available. My friend Michael Hyatt is one of the best persons I know at setting, following, tracking, and achieving his personal and business goals. For several years I have enrolled in and actively used Michael’s Best Year Ever course to guide me through this process.
Like many of you, I seemed to struggle to set my goals and then follow through on the daily, weekly, and quarterly steps necessary to achieve my goals. I continue to realize how important it is to not only establish goals but to have a process in place to follow through on achieving those goals.
My Secret Weapon
I am often asked how I get as much done as I do. I have a secret weapon, and I want to give you the opportunity to check it out to see if it could help you make 2018 your best year ever. As part of rolling out of the new course, Mike has created several free resources that will help as you begin your 2018 planning process.
This year I took the additional step of participating in the Best Year Ever Platinum Activation Workshops. The members of this group met, in person, three times in 2017 for a full day of in-depth training with Michael. We also had time to review our goals, measure our progress, celebrate our successes, and find encouragement to keep at it. It has been a wonderful experience.
You have no doubt heard the business adage… “What you don’t measure, you can’t improve.”
It’s certainly true in business, sports, and science, but what about other areas of your life? How do you measure progress in your life? With work or business, it might be a little more comfortable because we could use our income. But what about our health, our relationships, or our intellectual and spiritual growth?
Michael has also created a great tool that will help you measure where you stand in each of these areas. It is called the LifeScore™ Assessment, and it allows you to measure progress in your life in less than 10 minutes—and you can get it free for a limited period.
Once you discover your LifeScore™, you can quickly see opportunities for growth and what is working well. It’s the perfect way to measure progress in your life. There’s also a quick video tutorial that explains how to use the tool. You will get that once you submit your email address.
Michael will also be hosting a webinar: “7 Steps for Taking Control of 2018: How to Leverage Goal-Setting to Design the Life You Want” that will be available in early December.
If you access the LifeScore Assessment listed above, you will receive an email notification with the dates and times the webinar will be available. At the end of the webinar, you will be provided with an opportunity to sign up for the full digital course. Michael always has incredible bonuses for webinar attendees, even just for showing up! For that reason alone, it is worth signing up.
The last 2017 Best Year Ever Activation Workshop was held in October. Going in, I had decided that I was not going to participate again in 2018. I had been through the process and knew how it worked. At the end of the day, after reviewing all I had accomplished in 2017 (and there are still 31 days left! I am going to finish strong…), I realized I could not afford not to continue to participate. Participating in the Best Year Ever Platinum Group is the best investment I can make for myself. So, I signed up for 2018.
Your Best Year Ever Book
Another option is to pre-order Michael’s newest book: Your Best Year Ever: A 5-Step Plan for Achieving Your Most Important Goals, which will be available on January 2, 2018. Michael gave me a “reader version” of the book to review. It is excellent. He does not hold anything back. The book details the complete process and is a unique (and inexpensive) way to understand the concepts.
I understand that many of you will not be interested in paying to enroll in the course. However, I strongly encourage you to take advantage of Michael’s free material (the assessment and webinar) as a way to stimulate your thinking as you make your 2018 goals and plans. These are the steps I recommend:
- Take the Lifescore Assessment. It only takes 10 minutes.
- Sign up for the webinars when offered.
- Pre-Order Michael’s new book.
And, if you do sign up, please let me know so we can celebrate our progress and success together.
Remember, what gets measured gets done.
What process are you going to use to plan for 2018?
